Description: This beautiful landscape, capturing an impression in grey hues, inspired by Japanese woodblock prints, is one of the artist’s several works depicting bridges on the Seine. It shows the Pont Royal as it was in 1922, during Karpiński’s first visit to Paris with his wife. It was also that year that he met Olga Boznańska in person.
The Regional Museum in Stalowa Wola holds a sketch of the Pont de l’Archevêché (inv. no. MRS/S/125).
